Join us in Albuquerque, New Mexico, September 30-October 2 to welcome the beginning of the seventh month with shofars a-blazin'! We will be welcoming back some of our favorite speakers, including Arthur Bailey, Nehemia Gordon, and Keith Johnson, all of whom shone at Shavuot! If you can attend, there is a unique opportunity in store . . . Join us the evening of September 29th in the small town of Las Lunas, NM, just outside of Albuquerque, where we will be awaiting the new moon in the presence of rock formations that contain a link to our scattered Hebrew ancestry. On one of these rocks is an inscription of the Ten Commandments written in ancient paleo-Hebrew. On another grouping of rocks is a depiction of a lunar eclipse that NASA has confirmed is an accurate depiction of a lunar eclipse that happened 2300 years ago. Michael has been brimming with enthusiasm as he eagerly awaits his chance to meet everyone at these rocks so they can witness this rare discovery for themselves.

Our Yom Teruah event begins with a hike to the Los Lunas Decalogue on Thursday the 29th of September. This hike will take place in the early afternoon, as it is required that we are safely off the mountain before sunset. We are told that the hike is about 2 miles - 1.5 miles being on a trail, but .5 miles of rough ascent. This hike is not recommended for young children or for adults lacking a hearty constitution.

We will sight the moon once we are off the site, so you can still join in on that part if you don't make the hike with us. The hike will begin around 3pm and be over around 4:30. We will sight the moon once we are off the site. If you would like to join us just for the after hike activities feel free to arrive at 5:00PM

Normally someone visiting this site must pay for and acquire a permit in order to get to the rock. This fee and requirement has been waived for our group.

Please make sure to dress appropriately for hiking and being outside for a half day in the New Mexico late summer. Please bring your own water and a sack dinner to enjoy together while we wait for the new moon to make its appearance.

We have secured a bus to transport people from the Doubletree Hotel in downtown Albuquerque to the site of the rock. The bus will load at 201 Marquette Ave. NW Albuquerque, NM 87102 at 1:30pm and depart at 2pm for the site. It will return you to the Doubletree Hotel around 9pm. You do not have to be staying at the Doubletree in order to take the bus. There is not a lot of parking at the rock site, so we hope you'll utilize the bus! To ride the bus please bring $20 per person and email the number of people in your party riding the bus to Sara@MichaelRood.tv.

The rest of the events for the weekend will be at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

We hope you will enjoy the wide variety of dining options available to you in the city of Albuquerque during our event. We will have breaks that will allow you to venture out for lunch and dinner with your family and/or newfound friends!

Please get your tickets soon; the Convention Center can only hold so many people, and we don’t want you to miss out! Also, don’t forget to book your hotel as soon as possible, as it will be a very busy weekend with the Albuquerque Balloon Festival happening, too!
