We all know that Hollywood is a perpetuator of all things evil and perverse. Most of these themes are obvious, and simple enough to avoid or at least be aware of. Because of the Spirit that lives in us and the understanding we have been given through the Word, we can discern good from evil according to YeHoVaH.
But what if there is a plot in their tactics that is even more sinister and sneaky than we realize?
For generations, the story of the gospel has been plagiarized by writers and directors. A hero gives his life sacrificially for an undeserving society, and somehow before the credits roll, he emerges from the smoke and flames, walking victorious and covered in battle wounds. We have seen this time and time again. This replaying of the gospel story, without giving credit where it is due, is bad enough.
But lately, we have seen more of an inversion of the true gospel of the kingdom than a simple retelling of it.
Increasingly, we see movies and series with talk of dimensions and other worlds crashing violently into the world and reality we know and love. There is some antagonist who is all powerful and seemingly undefeatable. He is the one telling everyone that the world they live in is evil and must come to an end.
In the end, some group of unexpected superheroes bands together and, against all odds, they stop this new world from crashing into their imperfect but beloved Earth. The bad guy is defeated and sent off into the netherworld and everyone gets to continue life happily ever after.
Upon closer inspection we see that this is a retelling, really a reversal, of the future second-coming of Yeshua and everything that we as believers hope in. We are awaiting a new heaven and a new earth; redemption coming on the clouds as King Yeshua rushes in to crush evil and establish a reign of true peace on the earth. And, ultimately, that means an end to the world as we know it.
This victorious king is a threat to the empires of man and Hollywood is working double time to condition the minds of man to reject the coming and eternal Kingdom. Have you noticed this as well?
This is the epitome of calling what is good evil and what is evil good. We have sure got our work cut out for us, saints!
The good news is, Hollywood is lying. There is no group of misfit teenagers with telepathic powers that will join together to stop Yeshua in his tracks. He is coming. And there is nothing that can stop him. Let's keep working to get as many people on the right side of this epic battle as possible.
