I was walking in my usual spot, Glencarien Park, beeboppin along to a podcast in my earbuds, blocking out the outside noise. All of a sudden, over the sound of the podcast, I heard what sounded like a very loud guitar, so I pulled out my phone to see if it had gone crazy; nope, all is well … I looked to my left and saw a man sitting on the brick fence playing a guitar and singing a melodic tune. I pulled out my earbuds to listen to him play, and it was such a sweet sound. (I wish I'd recorded)(and I was already a distance from him when I took the pic, so not the best... but you get the jest)

Then it happened…. Holy Spirit started teaching me.

We can block out the noise with mechanical help and listen to what suits our needs, but when YHVH wants to break in and get your attention, HE WILL! I love this scenario so much. I left my earbuds out so I could enjoy this sweet sound. I walked by him and gave him a soft hand clap, and he returned my gesture with a beautiful smile. I continued my trek without my earbuds, and, hearing all the outside noises like vehicles, birds, people, and water fountains, even still, I could hear the sweet strumming through it all. I was almost home; in the distance, I could still hear the music ever so faintly over all the other outside noises.
Don’t be afraid of missing the voice of our Creator. He knows what gets our attention. He knows how to train us to hear Him, whether it’s like the sound of many waters, or a faint strumming on the guitar in the midst of chaos. He assured me that His voice will not go unheard… What an intentional GOD we serve.

Verse of the Week: John 7:37

“On the last day, that great day of the feast, Yeshua stood and cried out, saying, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.’”

Yeshua spoke these words at the climactic conclusion of Sukkot. In the Torah, the seven days of the feast are followed by an eighth-day assembly before Yehovah. That eighth day is significant because throughout Scripture, the number eight often points beyond a completed cycle and toward a new beginning.

Sukkot itself looks forward to the Messianic Kingdom, when Yeshua will reign from Jerusalem and the nations will come up to worship Yehovah. But the eighth day presses the picture even further. It points beyond the completion of the present age toward the fullness of Yehovah’s restoration.

It is in this context that Yeshua stands and cries out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.”

The timing is profound. The feast has reached its culmination, and Yeshua identifies Himself as the source of the living water promised by the prophets. Ezekiel saw a river flowing from the sanctuary and bringing life wherever it went. Zechariah foretold living waters flowing from Jerusalem. Isaiah spoke of drawing water from the wells of salvation. These promises ultimately converge in Yeshua.

John tells us that Yeshua was speaking of the Ruach. Yet this is not merely about an inward spiritual experience. The giving of the Ruach is a foretaste of the coming restoration of all things. The eighth-day theme reminds us that Yehovah’s purposes do not end with the present age. They move toward resurrection, renewal, the reign of Messiah, and ultimately the dwelling of Yehovah with His people.

Yeshua did not set aside the Torah or Yehovah’s appointed times. He stood within them and revealed their prophetic meaning. The Torah gives us the pattern, and Messiah reveals its fulfillment.

So, this week, let us come to Yeshua and drink deeply of the living water He gives. Let us walk in obedience to Yehovah, honor His Torah, and remember that the eighth day calls us to look beyond the present age. We are waiting for the return of the King, the restoration of Jerusalem, the resurrection of the righteous, and the day when Yehovah makes all things new.

“But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in the loving devotion of God forever and ever.” — Psalm 52:8
