Scripture does not explicitly explain why Yehovah allowed mankind to eat meat after the Flood, but it provides several clues. Before the Flood, both humans and animals were given plants for food (Genesis 1:29).

After the Flood, Yehovah told Noah that every living creature could serve as food (Genesis 9:3).This change may reflect the dramatically altered conditions of the post-Flood world. It also appears to be part of Yehovah’s provision for humanity in a fallen creation. However, the permission came with important restrictions, especially the prohibition against eating blood, emphasizing that life belongs to Him. (Lev 11)

Many believers see the original vegetarian diet of Eden as the Creator’s ideal. The prophets even describe a future restoration in which animals live together peacefully once again (Isaiah 65:25). Thus, the Bible presents meat consumption as a permitted provision for a changed world, while continually reminding humanity of the sacred value of life.

"Immediately AFTER THE TRIBULATION of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." - Matthew 24:29-30
